Confused coworker: "So, what kind of religion are you, that you can attend both a Catholic and a Protestant church?"

Me: ".......uh, Christian?"

Do you attend both churches on a regular basis or were you just visiting one for some reason and the coworker asked you?

I think I know you well enough to understand that you are a brilliant person.  I also believe you understand the teachings of both of the churches you attended.  And I know your church upbringing.  At the risk of being labeled a mind-reader, I believe you also understood the implication of the coworkers question.  Namely:  those two religious positions hold beliefs which contradict each other, how can you subscribe to both?

So, if you were only visiting, it's funny.  I've visited other services also for various reasons.  But if you attend both regularly, I'll ask along with your co-worker: what do you believe?

I'm trusting this was only a visit but just wanted to point out it didn't come across as humorous as it could have.  ;o)

Thank you for the clarification.  :o) Sorry to have added another task to your already way too busy schedule.  :oS
